Harnesses in Our Riggers Range

Across Australian construction, infrastructure, and industrial worksites, riggers operate in some of the most demanding height-safety environments. The work involves climbing, changing position, working with both hands at height, and moving across structures throughout a shift. A general fall arrest harness isn't designed for those demands.

Riggers harnesses are designed for the varied demands of rigging work, providing the support, mobility, and attachment options needed when working at height. Different designs and configurations are available depending on the task and work environment.

Standard Riggers Harnesses

The classic riggers harness – an H-style or vest-style full-body harness with front and rear fall arrest D-rings and side positioning D-rings. Lightweight hardware reduces fatigue over long shifts. Available in a range of sizes with full adjustability across the shoulder, chest, and leg straps.

Heavy-Duty Riggers Harnesses

Built for daily industrial use in harsh environments. Heavy-duty riggers harnesses are designed for frequent use in conditions that would accelerate wear on a standard harness: abrasive surfaces, heat, chemical exposure, and the physical demands of heavy rigging work.

Their features include large-format aluminium or forged-steel D-rings, moisture-wicking waist-belt materials, and reinforced attachment points at all D-ring locations.

Multi-Purpose Riggers and Rescue Harnesses

Some riggers harnesses also include rescue features, such as shoulder retrieval rings for vertical extraction. These may be suitable for workers who need to be retrieved from height or a confined space in an emergency.

These harnesses serve as a daily work harness and a rescue-ready device without additional equipment changes.

For dedicated rescue applications, see our range of rescue harnesses.

Riggers Harness Applications

Riggers harnesses are the correct choice when the work involves:

  • Structural steel and cranes – workers moving across elevated steel structures, climbing, and rigging loads where both fall arrest and positioning are required throughout the shift.
  • Bridge and infrastructure construction – work at height over water or void, where fall arrest, positioning, and potential rescue capability are all necessary.
  • Industrial plant and maintenance – access to elevated structures, pressure vessels, pipe racks, and elevated platforms with varied attachment demands.
  • Roof work and elevated platforms – particularly where the rigger is also positioning loads and needs side D-rings for hands-free work.
  • Confined space entry and height work – for tasks involving both confined space and height hazards, where shoulder retrieval rings may assist with emergency extraction.

If your work is primarily rope access and descending structures, see our rope access harness range.
