If you know the name Petzl you know quality. For the past forty years Petzl's mission is to create innovative solutions, tools or services, that help people progress in vertical or dark environments. In the realm of climbing and rope access, Petzl is among the best.

One of Absafe's favourite pieces of equipment for rope access jobs is the Petzl Ascension Ascender. The ascender is lightweight for use of ease, weighing in at just 195 grams, is simple to use, and effective. The ergonomic molded handle allows a comfortable yet powerful grip and more importantly it easily slides up rope, the main component you look for in a rope grab.

The Ascension was recently redesigned to combine the two lower holes into one wide lower hole allowing the carabiners of the lanyard and FOOTAPE or FOOTCORD to be easily attached. Not a huge adaptation but we do prefer the wider hole.  Whether you are using the ascender for sport or professional services this grab is a good choice.

Compared to other rope grabs around the same price the Petzl Ascension Ascender has made it to the top of our list. Let us know what you think.

Workplace Bullying

Bullying is a serious issue in workplaces across Australia and a risk factor for anxiety, depression, and suicide. It can also contribute to loss of productivity, staff turnover, absenteeism, low morale, and financial costs.

This means creating a strong, consistent approach to prevent inappropriate behaviour from escalating, and a positive, respectful work culture where bullying is not tolerated.
