Silicosis can be fatal within five to 10 years – sometimes for people as young as 20 or 30. Uncontrolled dry cutting and grinding is prohibited. Safe Work NSW is now offering rebates on silica protection equipment, and on health monitoring. There are rebates for manufactured stone businesses, and also for all eligible businesses.
